Kent Hunter
Company Secretary

Kent Hunter is a chartered accountant with over 16 years corporate and company secretarial experience. He has been involved in the listing of over 30 companies on ASX in the past 9 years. He has experience in capital raisings, ASX compliance and regulatory requirements and is currently a director of Cazaly Resources Limited, Carbon Conscious Ltd, Western Manganese Ltd, Metal Bank Ltd and is company secretary of two other ASX listed entities.

Commencing with Hall Chadwick Chartered Accountants in 1990, Mr Hunter completed his professional year and became chartered in 1993. Mr Hunter joined Ord Partners Chartered Accountants in 1995 and became Corporate and Audit Manager for a range of listed and unlisted entities.

Mr Hunter founded Mining Corporate in 2000 and established a business of identifying projects requiring a route to commercialisation including industrial, technology, mining and exploration companies.


Ashley Hood
Chief Operating Officer

Ashley Hood has more than ten years experience in the mining industry working in exploration and operations for junior and large miners including Anglo Gold Ashanti.

Currently Chief Operations Officer with Proto Resources, Mr Hood has broad senior management experience, delivering exploration outcomes through all aspects of project management. Mr Hood’s skills in people management, project planning and contractual negotiations are supported by experience in exploration activities from geochemical sampling, through to the delivery of geophysical programs on some of Australia’s major exploration drilling projects.

Mr Hood consults to Global Nickel Investments NL in the same role.

Mr Hood is a Director of Ridley Resources Limited, a WA gold and poly-metallic mineral exploration company. Mr Hood is currently completing his Masters of Business Degree at the University of Technology, Sydney.

 

Pierre Richard
Chief Development Officer

Pierre Richard has a background in project management and investment economics.

As Chief Development Officer, Dr Richard has responsibility for managing the feasibility assessment and approvals processes for the Barnes Hill nickel-cobalt-iron project in Northern Tasmania. This has included close work in the development of the proposed mining and processing activities and the coordination of environmental and other studies supporting the project.

Dr Richard has worked in the infrastructure industry, including in project development, economic assessment, and in corporate law. He holds a BCom and LLB from the University of New South Wales and a PhD in strategic management from the Australian Graduate School of Management.

 

Hugh Minson
Business & Technology Development Manager

Hugh Minson is primarily focused on the development of the BArrier Bay technology. Mr Minson maintains strong relationships with the independent laboratory in the northern New South Wales which is currently piloting the process. Having majored in Entrepreneurship at Bond University, Mr Minson has specialised knowledge in the areas of venture growth, Finance and negotiation. Mr Minson is currently using these skills to secure future projects for the company to exploit the exciting proprietary Barrier Bay technology on. 

 

 

Carl Swensson
Consulting Geologist

Mr. Carl Swensson, Consulting Geologist: Mr. Swensson is a leading geologist with extensive experience over 26 years in the minerals exploration and mining industries. Mr. Swensson has held senior exploration and exploration management positions with CRA Limited, Bendigo Gold Associates and Normandy Mining Limited.

As Chief Exploration Geologist at Normandy Mining, Mr Swensson was responsible for the management of the exploration budget across that company’s tenement portfolio.

Mr. Swensson is a Director of Lefroy Resources Limited, an ASX-listed exploration company with extensive operations in Chile and Peru. Mr Swensson is also a Director of Condor Blanco Mines Ltd.

 

Richard Hordern-Gibbings
Executive Assistant to the Managing Director

Richard Hordern-Gibbings is Executive Assistant to the Managing Director of Proto Resources, Andrew Mortimer. Mr Hordern-Gibbings provides an invaluable role in assisting Mr Mortimer with Proto Resources business.
Mr Hordern-Gibbings is currently completing his BComm and LLB at the University of Adelaide

 

Mark Wells & Andrew Heap
Community Relations and PR - Beaconsfield

Mark Wells and Andrew Heap are the co-founders and the Principal Advisors at MWPR, a Tasmanian-based public relations and community liaisons business. With more than 20 years experience in direct consulting and full-time public relations roles, their relationship with the Beaconsfield community has been established for some years through the ownership of businesses in the area as well as direct involvement with public relations issues, such as Beaconsfield Mining incident in 2006.

Mr Wells has wide-ranging experience in the provision of strategic communications advice to the finance, human resources, telecommunications, mining, and government sectors.

Mr Heap has extensive experience in marketing and business management and currently manages several successful companies in Tasmania and Victoria.

Mr Heap has successfully restructured several national companies and has undertaken consultancy work on a national basis for Telstra, Colliers Jardine, AMP, and the ADF Group of companies.
