Tibooburra - 100% OWNED
Proto Resource’s only stand-alone gold project is at historic Tibooburra, north of Broken Hill, NSW. Proto has three granted tenements covering an area of approximately 1000 km2. The widespread occurrence of alluvial gold at the base of the Cretaceous conglomerate highlights the potential for significant gold source deposits in the underlying Lower Palaeozoic metasediments. There were workings in the area during the nineteenth century with total gold production (pre 1890) estimated to be 75,000 oz. Initial drilling by Proto Resources has confirmed gold mineralisation at depth at Tibooburra and follow-up work should sharpen up targets. The company also plans to commence bulk-sampling of the known alluvials to commence a short term cash-flow from the project.
